3. History
The first cloned animals were cloned in the late 1800 and early 1900’s Hans Spemman and Hans Dreisch attempted to clone animals but they were both unsuccessful. In 1951, a team of scientists in Philadelphia used nuclear transplant to clone a frog embryo. Nuclear transplant is still used today. The first cloned mammal was cloned in 1986. It was a sheep named Dolly who was the first cloned from an adult. Since Dolly, only mice have been successfully cloned.
